He earned his medical degree at the Medical College of Georgia, Augusta Georgia and completed his Internal Medicine residency at Wake Forest University Department of Medicine. He completed his Nephrology Fellowship at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, VA.

Dr. Gupta is currently board certified with AIBM in Internal Medicine and Nephrology.
